White Finch was founded in 2016 from a passion for baking the freshest, most delicious cakes and desserts. Pippa, the lovely owner, runs her tea room which is based in Broomfield Farm in Meopham. Her brother currently runs Broomfield Farm and has fresh fruit and vegetables that are available to the public as PYO.

I first met Pippa last year, when I came to the Kent tea room to try it out. She is the absolute sweetest! We always talk for ages, catching up on life and how things are going. Pippa makes the most incredible cakes. My favorite has always been the traditional cream tea, however recently I’ve been craving her apricot cake! It feels extremely autumnal and perfect for this season. To be honest, I’m a fan of all of her food and cakes. Everything she makes is absolutely delicious and feels extra special due to the fact she sources all her ingredients from the farm. The strawberry jam is an absolute delight and you can even buy that at the tea room alongside some honey.

As a Kent food photographer, I was so happy to be able to shoot photos for her tea room. What I love about photography is when people see themselves or their creations and feel ecstatic about the result. Like, “that’s what I made?! (or how I look?!) That looks so good!” Food does the same thing when it looks absolutely mouthwatering. If I say so myself – Pippa’s food looks mouthwatering and I’d love to eat it just now!
