My faves just got engaged and I had the total privilege to capture the moment as their proposal photographer. Holly and I met at Hillsong, and we became best friends quickly. I knew Joe and Holly had been together a long time, so I couldn’t wait until they got engaged! Joe got in touch the week before to tell me that he was planning the proposal. He asked if I could capture it because he knew Holly would love it – to which I said YES! Joe had planned the whole proposal. The day started with them doing things they loved. He had planned to propose to her on the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. They shared many memories and important conversations there.
When I saw Joe and Holly coming up the bridge, in all the excitement, I thought she saw me! I was hiding, of course, and it was way too far for her to see me. I hid behind the railing and saw Joe and Holly just pass by, and he tapped her on the shoulder. As soon as she turned around, he was on one knee and asked her to marry him. She was in total shock and excitement – as you can see from the pictures!
Once they got off the bridge, Holly spotted their closest friends and family. He had their friends and family waiting for them for an engagement party when they got off the bridge. It was so so lovely to be able to see this moment happen for one of my best friends and to have the privilege to capture it!
I can’t wait for their Newcastle wedding, and to do their photos their summer. It’ll be so fun!
